DOCTOR MIGUEL NEIL BENVENGA, graduates in Dentistry at Universidade de São Paulo School of Dentistry, in 1957 and, post-graduates in Orthodontics at the same institution, period 1967 / 1969. Also, at the same School of Dentistry, he worked as Assistant Professor at the Orthodontics Department - period: 1964-1970. For 36 years he practises Orthodontics in his private office, in Santo André, state of São Paulo. Besides, he keeps himself in active participation in meetings, symposia, lectures and,teaching in Brasil, Argentine, Chile, Uruguay, Equador, Mexico and U.S.A.
He was a pioneer in his
country in divulging and teaching the bonding technics of
orthodontic devices as well as the Bioprogressive Therapy, having published 19
papers
in Brazilian and Argentinean specialized magazines.
It may be added to his works, the translation into Portuguese, of the following

"In Searching of the Excellence in Orthodontics"by Dr. Bjorn U.
Zachrisson, enlarged
and re-edicted in 1995, through Universidade São Francisco Publishing House.

In the year 2000, Dr. Benvenga wrote the Chapter 16 of the book "New Vision
in
Orthodontics and Facial Orthopedics", under the title "Bioprogressive
Therapy at the
Present Time"by occasion of the Congress Ortho-2000, sponsored by Sociedade
Paulista de Ortodontia (SPO), São Paulo, SP.
Doctor Benvenga is an Affiliate Member to the Sociedade Paulista de Ortodontia
(Brasil), American Association of Orthodontists (U.S.A.), World Federation of
Orthodontists (U.S.A.), ABOR - Associação Brasileira de Ortodontia (Brasil),
APEO - Associação Brasileira de Especialistas em Ortodontia (Brasil) and,
Redeemed Member to APCD - Sociedade Paulista de Cirurgiões Dentistas,
São Paulo,SP.
In the year of 1991, he received the title of "Honorary Fellow"of
Sociedad de
Ortodoncia de Córdoba, Republica Argentina, in prize of his scientific
contributions to
the institution. In December, 2000, he was elected Member of the Academia
Brasileira
de Odontologia (Brazilian Academy of Dentistry), Rio de Janeiro, RJ.
Since May, 1994 until January, 2001, his main didactics activity has been as
Co-ordinator
Professor of Specialization in Orthodontics at Universidade São Francisco
School of Dentistry, Bragança Paulista, state of São Paulo. All long this period, over a
thousand
of orthodontists got their post-graduation degree.
At present, he holds the function of Head of the Specialization Course in
Orthodontics
at UNICSUL - Cruzeiro do Sul University, Campus Liberdade, São Paulo, S.P.,
Brazil.
